Excellent Study Programmes at RUB
In the Times Higher Education Impact-Ranking, RUB achieved second place in Germany in the “Quality Education” category. The THE Impact Ranking evaluates universities worldwide based on their contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
The CHE University Ranking, published annually by the renowned Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE), presents and compares degree programs and study conditions at various universities in Germany. In this study, students evaluate their degree programs and conditions, and the results also include teaching and research performance, internationality and the practical relevance of a subject.
Ruhr-University Bochum received outstanding ratings for support at the beginning of studies, the organization of studies, the range of courses and the library facilities. The category “Support at the beginning of studies” received particularly high ratings.
These successes in renowned international rankings testify to the high quality of teaching at the Ruhr-University. They make it clear that the efforts to improve the quality of teaching at the Ruhr-University are increasingly being recognized externally, and the great commitment of the teaching staff and administration is receiving well-deserved recognition.
Ruhr-University attaches particular importance to getting first-year students off to a good start. The teaching staff do a fantastic job and in the coming years we will continue to work intensively on making the degree program even more attractive for all first-year students through earlier practical, research and interaction phases.
At a time when many universities are struggling with falling student numbers, Ruhr-University Bochum shows that this does not have to be an obstacle to improving the quality of teaching. Quite the opposite: the university has traditionally relied on cooperation with practice and industry partners, on practical and application-oriented courses and has made a name for itself as a top start-up university in recent years. All of this ensures that students have good chances of success, as the graduate surveys show. The strategy seems to be bearing fruit: it is worth starting a degree at Ruhr-University Bochum right now to set the course for future-proof career planning.
